Blue Tomato Farms is a sustainable, pesticide free, biodynamic farm offering a true local CSA – Community Supported Agriculture program. We produce flavor packed, nutritionally dense vegetables that are naturally and safely grown. We harvest delicious heirloom vegetables at their peak of ripeness, then quickly and carefully clean and hand package them to ensure they arrive safely at your home in Maryland, Washington DC or Virginia — all within hours of harvest.

Located just a few miles west of Annapolis, Maryland — and with over 18 years of horticulture experience — we blend some of the most modern, environmentally-friendly and sustainable horticultural practices out there, along with forgotten agricultural wisdom from the past.

We rely on our local honey bees to ensure adequate pollination, and earthworms to turn the recycled organic matter into valuable nutrients that not only feed our vegetable plants, but the plants also utilize their enzymes to help protect them.

This is more than just purchasing vegetables from a local farmer; it supports a global mindset with respect to ourselves, our earth and what we put into our bodies. Our fertile fields were horse pastures for over 40 years until we turned it over. We are pesticide free and herbicide free. It has been in Mary Ann’s family for generations and we know it has been chemical free.

Our produce is grown in a manner which promotes utilization of 100% recycled organic material and the use of beneficial insects and natural bacteria to combat insect pests and diseases.
